Small Dishes and Baby Utensils
Small dishes and baby utensils are yet another tool to have in your weight loss surgery “tool box.”
Taking the recommended small, pea size sized bites is easy when you eat from small utensils. You can only fit a small amount on a baby fork or spoon! It just makes sense.
Placing a small bite of food in your mouth means a small bite, and only a small bite of food will find its way down to your stomach. And remember to chew that small bite up 25-30 times to reduce chances of nausea and vomiting.
Dish size makes a difference too. It’s a lot easier to eat the amount you’re supposed to eat when you start with the right amount in front of you.
Plus, a small amount of food just looks better on a small dish or plate. Your brain won’t send messages of “deprivation.”
Eat from child size or infant size dishes.
Remember, how you eat is just as important as what you eat.
